As you all know Victorian residents will be going to the polls in November. We need to use this time in the lead up to the election to lobby for better outcomes for amputees over 65, not on the NDIS.
Amputees who are funded for prosthetics under the Victorian Artificial Limb Program (VALP), don’t have access to the kind of prosthetic technology that people on the NDIS or other insurance based schemes do – and IT IS TIME FOR CHANGE!
Limbs 4 Life have created a briefing paper outlining the gaps for amputees over 65 and we are currently lobbying government, but we need the voice of the people to get behind this campaign and assist us to get a better outcome for older Victorian amputees.
If you are willing to put your voice to this campaign, please follow our easy steps:
STEP 1. If you don’t know who your local state member of Parliament is, click here and enter your postcode in the box on the top right hand side of the screen and click the magnifying glass icon. Click on your district's name and you'll be taken to Parliament of Victoria's, find a member website. The name of your local member of parliament will appear. Click on your local member's name, click 'contact' and locate your member's email address. This where you will be sending your email.
STEP 2. Paste this content into your email. Please add your name and address to the top and add the name of your state member.
STEP 3. Attach this briefing paper and send!
If you need assistance, please call the office 1300 782 231.
Thank you again for your support. The unfairness in funding for prosthetics in Victoria needs to stop and together we can make this happen.
