Our History
Limbs 4 Life empowers amputees with knowledge and support to make a real difference, because no-one should have to go through limb loss alone..
Limbs 4 Life is the peak body for amputees in Australia and was founded as an incorporated charity in 2004. Limbs 4 Life provides services to thousands of amputees and their care givers, who rely on the programs and services for assistance prior to, or after a limb amputation.
Without Limbs 4 Life many amputees and children with limb differences, as well as their families, would be forced to go through the trauma of limb loss alone.
Since its formation, Limbs 4 Life has greatly extended the supports available to amputees, their families, primary care givers and healthcare staff.
Limbs 4 Life’s supports include:
- Peer support programs;
- Amputee resources and wellbeing information;
- Independent support helping you to navigate the health-care and disability systems; and,
- Access to social inclusion events and activities.
Limbs 4 Life has proven to be an important and in-demand organisation with links to amputee support organisations internationally and in other parts of Australia. Over the years the value of our work has been recognised by a range of philanthropic, government and corporate supporters. Limbs 4 Life believes in how the right information and support is for empowering amputees.
